For as long as anyone could remember, the Stormfields had been avoided after sunset. During the day, they appeared almost peaceful. Endless green grass stretched toward the horizon, wildflowers moved gently in the wind, and the distant hills seemed untouched by the dangers of the world. But when the storms arrived, small lights began to appear. They floated silently above the grass. Some were barely brighter than fireflies. Others illuminated entire patches of the field with a pale blue glow. The villagers called them Field Orbs. Nobody knew where they came from. They would drift across the fields for hours, sometimes disappearing beyond the hills before returning days later. Wherever they passed, the grass became dry and brittle, and the air filled with the faint sound of static. Most people kept their distance. But one evening, a young traveler named Elian noticed something strange. One of the Field Orbs wasn't wandering aimlessly. It was following a path. Slowly, carefully, it moved across the field, stopping every few moments before continuing toward the old forest at the edge of the Stormfields. Elian followed. He didn't know it yet, but the small sphere of lightning was leading him toward something that had been buried beneath the land for hundreds of years. And the Field Orb wasn't searching for treasure. It was searching for its home.

The Little Wanderer

The Field Orb loved the meadows. Every morning, it would drift between the tall grass, chasing butterflies and collecting the smallest flowers it could find. There was nothing it enjoyed more than spending a warm afternoon beneath the sunlight, surrounded by the gentle sounds of nature. One autumn afternoon, the Field Orb wandered farther than usual. A tiny purple flower caught its attention. It was growing beyond the edge of the meadow, beneath the shadow of the old forest. The Field Orb had never been there before. Curious, it floated closer. Then it noticed something strange. A faint blue light was glowing between the trees. It flickered once. Then again. The Field Orb followed it. With every step deeper into the forest, the sounds of the meadow became quieter. Eventually, there was nothing left but the sound of the wind. The Field Orb looked back. The meadow was gone.

The Path Between the Trees

The Field Orb began to feel uneasy. It tried to return the way it had come, but the forest seemed different now. The trees were taller. The shadows were longer. And the path behind it had disappeared. Then came a sound. Crack. The Field Orb froze. Another branch broke somewhere in the darkness. Crack. It quickly floated toward the blue light, hoping it would lead back to the meadow. Instead, the trees suddenly ended. Beyond them stood an enormous iron gate. It was covered in vines and rust. Behind the gate was an old graveyard. Hundreds of crooked gravestones disappeared into the darkness. The blue light floated through the gate. The Field Orb hesitated. Then it noticed something lying beside the entrance. A small, withered flower. It looked exactly like the flower it had been searching for. The Field Orb slowly crossed the gate. The moment it entered... The gate slammed shut behind it.

The Graveyard

The Field Orb trembled. There was no wind, yet the graveyard was filled with movement. Branches swayed. Leaves drifted across the ground. And one by one, small lights appeared between the gravestones. The Field Orb grabbed the withered flower and turned toward the gate. It was still locked. Then it heard laughter. Very quiet laughter. The Field Orb looked around. Nothing. It began moving toward the gate. That's when it noticed the pumpkins. They were scattered throughout the graveyard, each one glowing with a faint orange light. The Field Orb floated past the first. Then the second. Then the third. Suddenly... Every pumpkin turned toward it. Their carved faces were no longer smiling. The Field Orb dropped the flower. Behind it came a whisper. "Don't leave." The Field Orb slowly turned around. There was nobody there. But something had moved between the graves.

Something in the Dark

The Field Orb tried to hide behind a gravestone. It stayed perfectly still. For several seconds, nothing happened. Then two pale eyes appeared in the darkness. They were far too high to belong to anything small. The Field Orb closed its eyes. The footsteps came closer. Slowly. One step. Then another. Then silence. The Field Orb opened one eye. Nothing was there. It looked toward the gate. It was open. The Field Orb didn't hesitate. It flew as fast as it could. Past the pumpkins. Past the gravestones. Past the old iron gate. And into the forest. It didn't stop until it could see the meadow again. Sunlight filled the sky. The Field Orb was safe. Or so it thought. It looked down. The withered flower was still in its hands. But now something was written across its petals. Three words. **I KNOW YOU.**

The Gravepuff

The Field Orb never returned to the graveyard. From that day forward, it stayed close to the meadow. But something had changed. It no longer wandered alone. Whenever the sun began to disappear, it would hide beneath the flowers and wait for morning. Then, on the night before Halloween, the Field Orb woke to a strange sound. Tap. Tap. Tap. Something was touching the window. The Field Orb slowly looked up. Outside stood a small, glowing pumpkin. It wasn't there before. The Field Orb moved closer. The pumpkin smiled. Then another appeared. And another. Soon, dozens of glowing pumpkins surrounded the house. The Field Orb trembled. Behind them, at the edge of the meadow, stood the old forest. And deep between the trees... the graveyard gate was open. Something was waiting beside it. The Field Orb held its withered flower tightly. Then a familiar whisper drifted across the meadow. "Don't leave." The Field Orb looked down. The flower in its hands had suddenly begun to bloom. But beneath the petals was a tiny face. And it was smiling. The lights in the meadow went out. Nobody saw the Field Orb again until Halloween morning. By then, it was no longer called a Field Orb. The few who claimed to have seen it gave it another name. **Gravepuff.**
