Mio - Before We Met

Before Mimo Cafe became a place they both called home, Mio and Hana were complete strangers. On a quiet morning filled with small errands, familiar streets, and an unexpected feeling that something was about to change, Mio makes her way toward the morning market. She doesn't know it yet, but before the day is over, she will meet someone who will become an important part of her story.

Mio had always liked quiet mornings. There was something comforting about the world before it became busy. The streets were still soft with the early light, shopkeepers were beginning to open their doors, and the smell of freshly baked bread drifted through the air. She stepped outside with a small basket in her hand and paused for a moment beneath the old cherry blossom tree near her home. A few petals fell gently around her. Mio smiled. It was going to be an ordinary day. At least, that was what she thought. She had a few things to pick up at the morning market, nothing particularly important. Some fresh fruit, a few ingredients, and perhaps something sweet if she found something that caught her eye. She had no reason to hurry. And yet, as she started walking toward the market, Mio couldn't shake the strange feeling that today was going to be different. She just didn't know why. She certainly didn't know that somewhere along the same streets, another girl was beginning her own morning. A girl named Hana. And neither of them knew that their paths were slowly coming together.
