AI generated card & companion art
Card Pack Hunter is a 100% free collecting game. To be able to fill the sets with a large amount of creatures without charging anyone a single cent, a big part of our artwork is created with the help of generative AI tools. Whenever that is the case, the card or companion carries a visible AI generated badge.
What does the badge mean?
The badge means the creature illustration on that card was produced with an AI image model, based on a written prompt and then reviewed, selected and edited by us before it became a card. The stats, name, rarity, set number and game balance are always decided by a human.
Companions
The same rule applies to collector companions. If a companion's picture was made with an AI image model, its companion page shows the AI generated art badge. The glowing frames and level effects are made by our own code, and a companion's name, story, price and levels are always written and decided by a human.
Cards without the badge
A card without the AI generated badge is drawn either by the site owner or by a commissioned artist. Because the site is completely free and has no revenue, the number of fully hand-drawn, original copyright artworks we can afford is limited — so expect those to be rarer than AI assisted cards.
EU rules on labelling AI content
Under the European Union's AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), and in particular its transparency obligations in Article 50, content that is generated or manipulated by an AI system must be clearly disclosed to the people who see it. Providers and deployers of generative AI have to mark such output in a way that is machine-readable and detectable, and users must be informed in a clear and distinguishable manner that what they are looking at was artificially generated.
We follow that principle here. Every card and companion whose artwork was made with AI is labelled with the AI generated badge on its own page, and that label links to this page so anyone can read exactly how the image came to be. We never present AI artwork as a hand-made piece, and we never claim authorship over an artist's work.
Copyright and reuse
AI generated images can have a different copyright status than human-made art in many jurisdictions. The card artwork on Card Pack Hunter is intended for use inside this game only. If you believe an image resembles protected work, use the report button on the card in your binder and we will review it — confirmed cases are removed and every collector who owns the card is refunded its Silver Coin value.
